How are pencils made in second grade

Feb 05,2025

The process of making a pencil for second grade children can be summarized as the following three steps:

1. Mix graphite powder and white clay powder evenly to make pen refills, and add an appropriate amount of water. Put the mixed materials into the machine, grind and shape them into graphite columns. Put the graphite column into the extruder and squeeze out the thin pencil lead. Dry and cut the long pencil lead, then place it in an oven and bake it at high temperature to make it tough.

2. Make a pen holder and put the pen core into it to cut the wood (such as California cedar) into suitable Flat noodles. Cut a groove on the Flat noodles to place pencil lead. Fill the groove with adhesive and then place the pen core into the groove. Cover it with another wooden strip and press it with the machine to fix the pen core in the pen holder.

3. After processing, the wooden strip with pencil lead is cut into pencils. Clean the sawdust on the surface of the pencil. Paint and label pencils, and some even come with erasers.

In this way, a complete pencil has been made.
