The ignition switch of the new energy vehicle does not respond

Jan 02,2025

The unresponsive ignition switch of new energy vehicles may be caused by various reasons. The following are three main reasons and solutions according to the requirements:

1. Insufficient battery power: Reason: Insufficient or depleted battery power is the most common reason why new energy vehicles cannot start. Solution: Use a charging station or portable charger to charge the vehicle. If the battery is severely depleted or has reached the end of its lifespan, it is recommended to replace the battery in a timely manner according to the vehicle maintenance manual.

2. Gear not in P gear: Reason: If some new energy vehicles do not shift to P gear when turning off the engine, the vehicle will not ignite the next time it is started, which is the self-protection mechanism of the vehicle. Solution: Shift the gear back to P and apply the brake, then try restarting the vehicle.

3. Smart key issue: Reason: When the power of the smart key is low, its transmission power decreases, which may cause the sensors in the car to be unable to sense the key signal, thereby affecting the one key start function. Solution: Replace the battery inside the smart key, or use the mechanical key that comes with the smart key to directly insert it into the keyhole to start the vehicle. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to check if the communication between the key and the vehicle is normal.

In addition to the three common reasons mentioned above, the unresponsive ignition switch of new energy vehicles may also be caused by various factors such as blown fuses, starter failure, steering wheel anti-theft mechanism activation, controller damage, circuit faults, etc. If none of the above methods can solve the problem, it is recommended to contact professional maintenance personnel for inspection and repair.
