How many types of new energy vehicle charging are available

Jan 19,2025

There are several charging methods for new energy vehicles, including:

1. Standard charging mode:

Use the portable charger or fixed charging station that comes with the vehicle to charge the power battery with 380V/220V AC power.

The charging current is relatively small, and the required time is relatively long, usually around 6 to 8 hours, and some can reach more than 8 hours.

It has a relatively small impact on battery life and is a common and commonly used charging method.

2. Fast charging mode:

By utilizing the fast charging function of fixed charging stations, high-voltage and high current pulse DC electricity is used for charging.

Fast charging speed, able to increase the battery power to around 80% in a short period of time, usually fully charged in about an hour.

Frequent use may have a certain impact on the lifespan of the power battery, so it is not recommended to use it frequently.

3. Mechanical battery replacement and special charging methods:

Mechanical battery replacement: By replacing a fully charged battery pack with a depleted one, the effect of quickly "fully charging" can be achieved. However, due to limitations in battery specifications, brands, and models, it has not been widely used at present.

Special charging method: such as wireless charging, which can automatically connect to the power grid for charging and discharging through wireless charging source boards embedded in roads and parking spaces without using wires and cables. But this charging method has not yet been widely produced and used. There are also methods such as mobile charging.
