How to deal with teachers being scolded by parents

Jan 04,2025

1. Stay calm and professional: In the face of parental scolding, stay calm and not be influenced by emotions. Take a deep breath and respond calmly, demonstrating the teacher's professional competence. Avoid arguments with parents and remember that the purpose of communication is to solve problems rather than exacerbate conflicts.

2. Listening and Understanding: Provide parents with ample opportunities to express their opinions and listen carefully to their dissatisfaction and concerns. By listening and trying to understand the parents' position and feelings, it helps to build a bridge of communication. At appropriate times, use phrases such as' I understand how you feel... 'to express empathy.

3. Actively communicate and seek solutions: After understanding the parents' demands, clearly articulate one's own views and positions, including school or class policies, the child's actual situation, and the measures taken. Propose specific solutions or suggestions, such as scheduling a face-to-face meeting to discuss issues in detail, inviting school management to intervene and coordinate, etc. At the same time, express the willingness to continue cooperating and working together for the growth of the child.
